Prior to advent of FM stereo multiplex, H.H. Scott AM/FM tuners
(Type 330) were equipped for "simulcast" stereo reception (sometimes
referred to as "binaural" broadcasts). Many
stations (including WCRB, of
Boston, Mass.) would broadcast the left channel program content on FM and the
right channel program content simultaneously on their AM affiliate station.
