Elbrus E2k

Elbrus E2k designed by the Russian company Elbrus International, which employees many specialists from military industry. Unfortunately, I did not found any detailed technical overview of this CPU. Elbrus claims that their CPU to be released in 2001 or 2002 will have performance well above any of today's CPUs (135 SPECint95 and 350 SPECfp95 at 1.2 GHz, running native x86 software), yet comparable small die size, low transistor count and power consumption (126 mm^2, 35W respectively). Elbrus already received 70 patents which cover technologies used in their CPU.

SPEC numbers of currently shipping and sampled CPUs (at the date of article uploading) can be found on this page.
